There is a ruler by which we must measure our thoughts: God's Word. Do our thoughts line up with His ideas of what is righteous and good? If we are struggling with thinking pure thoughts, ought we not go to God's Word to help us through this time?
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
